Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Her film Piano was awarded an Oscar. At a young age, the accomplished actress began acting on stage in several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. When she was a kid, Helen Keller was her most loved character from a fifth grade production. The mumps that she contracted left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she refused to let that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. After studying drama in college, she moved to New York City with her ambitions with her sights set. Hunter had her Broadway debut after a chance conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote in Broadway Crimes of the Heart. Her first film role came when she moved from Los Angeles. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in many TV movies or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame famous person as well as a winner of the Women in Film Lucy Award.
