Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor as well as producer and director. She has been praised for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter has won numerous awards which included an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her acting career began in Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. The art of acting has been a constant love of life. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ears, but this did not stop her from fulfilling her dream. In college she studied theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in the lift. They wrote together Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. Since her time in Los Angeles, Holly Hunter has been in many films, television movies and series.
